Anderson's Irvana documentary film is complemented by a public engagement project funded by a grant from the University of California Humanities Research Institute. How to Live in Irvine, co-directed with UC Irvine professor Catherine Liu, is a dynamic community discourse involving residents, artists and experts, and the Irvine landscape through walking tours, film screenings, and our Manifest Density booth at the Orange County Great Park Farmer's Market. The Manifest Density booth programs a library of books concerning Irvine, post-suburban development and one-day art residencies. Participating artists have included The Finishing School and Writ Large Press. Walking tours have been led by architecture and Irvine master plan experts, a former Irvine Company community planner, and naturalist Joel Robinson.  How to Live in Irvine programming runs from 2014 - 2016.
